     To calculate a bill:

  • Read your meter on or about the last day of the month and fill out your payment coupon.

  • Subtract the previous month's reading from the present reading.  Result is the gallons used.

  • Use the provided rate sheet. At the right of the gallons used column is the amount due, or

  • Call the Yancey WSC office with your current reading to have your billed calculated for you
.
  • For your convenience...you may email a reading to the link provided on this page and have the amount due emailed back to you.  
    If, for some reason, you do not receive a reply, call the office to verify that your email was received.

    SERVICE AVAILABILITY FEE: (as of 1/1/2011 includes .40 cents TCEQ Fee)

    $  20.40 - ORIGINAL SYSTEM (3/4" METER) AVAILABILITY FEE;
    $  30.40 - EXTENSION (3/4" METER) AVAILABILITY FEE;
    $100.40 - ORIGINAL SYSTEM ( 1 1/2" METER) SERVICE AVAILABILITY FEE;
    $150.40 - EXTENSION 1 1/2" METER) SERVICE AVAILABILITY FEE;
    $240.40 - EXTENSION (2" METER) SERVICE AVAILABILITY FEE;
    $480.40 - EXTENSION (3" METER) SERVICE AVAILABILITY FEE;
                     PLUS GALLONAGE.

    LATE PAYMENT FEE:  (Effective 1/1/2011) A penalty of $15.00 will be applied to delinquent bills (payments received on the 16th or
    thereafter)

    RETURNED CHECK FEE: (Effective 1/1/2011) Returned check fee is a $30.00.
    This includes any returned check that results in the account not being paid on the due date If a check has been returned for non-
    sufficient funds (this includes any person making a payment on your account by check).

    RECONNECT FEE;  A fee of $50.00 will be charged for reconnecting service after the Corporation has previously disconnected the
    service for any reason provided for in the Tariff.

    SERVICE TRIP FEE: The Corporation shall charge a trip fee of $25.00 for any service call or trip to  the Member's tap as a result of a
    request by the Member or resident (unless the  service call is in response to damage of the Corporation's or another Member's
    facilities) or for the purpose of disconnecting or collecting payment for services.

    CUSTOMER HISTORY REPORT FEE:  A fee of $1.00 will be charged to provide a copy of the Members record of past water purchases
    in response to a Member's request for such a record.

    TRANSFER FEE: An Applicant for service who is a Transferee shall complete all required application forms, and pay a Transfer Fee of
    $40.00.  Transfers must be completed within ten (10) days of the date of closing.

    AMR:  A fee of $5.00 will be added during any one (a) billing period for the purpose of AMR (Automatic Meter Reading).  Forms for
    application to activate this service are available in PDF  format on the "Forms" tab in this website .  Return the signed document to
    Yancey WSC.

    READ FEE:  A fee of $25.00 will be applied to the account on the first business day following the 25th of the month if payment and
    reading are not received.
